Description:	The students when entering the university also incorporate to a new culture and discipline, in this case History. Where they are asked for several written genres in which they show to be reflexive, critical and incorporate the language of the discipline. One genre that will help them to be incorporated in an efficient way is the writing of academic reviews. Several studies address the subject of the academic review. In the case of the story we have the study by Navarro (2011) in Argentina, but the Mexican context there are no studies. The objective of the study we present is to describe the rhetorical structure, from the socio-theoretical perspective (Miller, 1984; Swales, 1990 and Bazerman, 2012) of the genre academic review in history. The purpose is to identify the movements and strategies that the experts use when developing this genre, and that the students apply it in the production of that genre. We start with the sample of ten specialized academic reviews of the journals: América Latina en la Historia Económica; Estudios de Historia Novohispana y Estudios de Historia Moderna y Contemporánea de México. Los estudiantes al incorporarse a la universidad también se incorporan a una nueva cultura y disciplina, en este caso la Historia. En esta disciplina, los profesores solicitan diversos géneros escritos para identificar que los estudiantes se han apropiado del lenguaje disciplinar y que son capaces de reflexionar y realizar críticas a diversos acontecimientos del pasado. Un género que ayudará tanto a estudiantes como profesores es la redacción del género reseña académica. Diversos estudios abordan el tema de la reseña académica. En el caso de la historia tenemos el estudio realizado por Navarro (2011) en Argentina, pero el contexto mexicano no hay estudios. El objetivo del estudio que presentamos es describir la estructura retórica, desde la perspectiva sociorretórica (Miller, 1984; Swales, 1990 y Bazerman, 2012) del género reseña académica en historia. La finalidad es identificar los movimientos y estrategias que utilizan los expertos al elaborar dicho género, y que los estudiantes lo apliquen en la producción de dicho género. Partimos de la muestra de diez reseñas académicas especializadas de las revistas: América Latina en la Historia Económica; Estudios de Historia Novohispana y Estudios de Historia Moderna y Contemporánea de México
